ACARPA - Associação dos Cafeicultores da Região de Patrocínio (the coffee producers’ association of the Brazilian region Patrocinio) held from 24 to 26 September 2008 the “XVI Seminário do Café do Cerrado” which took place at Espaço Cultural Municipal Joaquim Constantino Neto in Patrocinio/MG. The aim of this sectional avant-garde event was to encourage the technology and know-how transfer in order to broaden the competitiveness of the Brazilian coffee production chain, contributing to a major sustainability and at the same time promoting the social and economical equality on the territory. The seminar (supported by a series of conferences, a commercial exhibition and the opening of the “Centro de Excelência do Café do Cerrado”) was attended by renowned coffee specialists who discussed about priority issues such as the domestic coffee production, new trends and techniques. Also attended the seminar coffee producers, processors, small and medium concerns, managers, students and of course our sister company OLTREMARE DO BRASIL that contributed to the event with a stand where many coffee operators gathered being interested in the optical-electronic colour sorting machines of the newest LUX series.
